US Army (retired) Command Sergeant Major  Ted Lidie has taught over 20,000 students since he started his career and founded the largest firearms training company in California. He develops all curriculum for NFI and leads an instructor team of over 20 NRA Certified instructors in 43 locations which teach approx. 3000 students each year. THIS REGISTRATION PAGE IS FOR THE NRA BASIC Pistol Course. This course is  designed for shooters of all experience levels.  Class is designed to have students bring their pistols and ammunition to the course and learn to use them! NRA Course will include professional books and training materials.Our students are treated like guests and therefore we are happy to provide a .22 caliber pistol to use for this course. .22 caliber ammunition is available on site for $10 per 100 cartridges.

Afternoon range session will be taught at The Redding Gun Club, 21777, Seven Lakes Lane, Redding, Ca 96003. See attached link below for directions.

NOTE: All NRA Pistol Instructor Candidates must complete NRA Basic Pistol before they can attend the NRA Pistol  Instructor Course, which is taught on 8/7/20.

Pistol action types and operation

Ammunition fundamentals

Pistol storage

Pistol maintenance

Pistol range training including marksmanship, loading, unloading, and range safety procedures.


NRA Basic Pistol:

Pistol, 22-45 Caliber

100 Cartridges

Eye and Ear Protection

Note-taking material Snacks and cool drinks for the range session. The weather will be warm!

Appropriate range clothing, including baseball cap and no sandals,  V-neck tops, tank-tops, or other open chested tops.
